Rajshahi University, which started its journey with only 161 students, is today a knowledge acquisition center for 33,000 students. The beginning was not so smooth though. The movement for the establishment of Rajshahi University started in 1950 and its results were captured in 1953 which was finalized with the establishment of the university. At the time of its establishment, the institution was taught at Rajshahi College, and accommodation was provided to the students through various rented houses in the city. Work on the university's campus began in 1958, and all faculties began the process of relocating to their campuses, which was completed in 1974.Location

The skyscrapers adorned with young twigs that stand as intimate guards on both sides of Pichdhala Road have taken the beauty of the university to another level. Walking down the street will feel like walking down a road in France. However, it is not a road in Paris, it is the Paris Road of Rajshahi University. The road has gone from Kajla Gate of the university to Sher-e-Bangla Hall.
