The joyous day for the Muslim community,EidulFitr

The word ‘eid’ means festival. It is the celebration of Muslim and is celebrated in the whole world. There are two eid in a year. Among them one is Eid-ul-Fitr. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. This month is followed as the month of prayer and fasting. The observation of fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam. The month of fasting can be of 29 days or 30 days which is completely depending on the sighting of the moon. In this month people wake up at the dawn, eat some food which is known as sehri and start the day with the intention of fasting. They do not eat something for the whole day and break their fast at the dusk. The food they take during the dark break the fasting is known as iftar. Eating sehri and iftar is of great blessing. Allah becomes very pleased with the person when they break their fast after the calling of evening prayer. The fasting is done so that Allah gets pleased with us.

In this way people who are fasting can gain a lot of reward and forgiveness from Allah the Almighty. The fasting is offered to the Muslim by Islam so that the people can understand the pain of hunger of the needy ones, can have the self-control and refrain from the food which is instructed by Allah. In this way Muslim can purify them self. The people pass the whole day by praying salat and reading the holy book Al Quran. Quite change can be seen among the people during this time, they try to remain with self-control, stop themselves from telling lies, handling everyone with patience and offering the food to the community.  This creates the communal harmony in the society by breaking the barrier of different classes.

  This day is celebrated in the blessing of breaking the fast. It is the religious holiday celebrated around the whole world in the overwhelming festival of ending the fasting month.  

On this day it is prohibited for the Muslim people to fast, they are commanded to enjoy this day with much happiness and enthusiasm. This eid comes at the first day of the Arabic calendar month Sawal. The starting and the conclusion of the month long fasting is maintained by the moon sighting and directed by the moon sighting committee of each country. The day is announced as an official holiday for everyone. But the holiday for the festival depends in the organization or the governmental decisions. Eid-ul-Fitr has special 2 rakat salat which is being prayed or offered in the open ground. Eid salat should be offered in congregation which increases the reward of this prayer to a great extent. This is an obligatory prayer or farz which means there is no chance of missing this prayer. Charity or zakat is given to the poor people on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr.   People of different classes buy new cloth on the occasion of Eid. They go from shopping mall to roadside shops Dubai the cloth according to their capabilities. Many people burst firecrackers on the day and the day before the Eid. They visit their relative’s house throughout the day. Huge people visit the public recreational area to enjoy with their friends and family on the next day of the eid. A wide range of food is prepared on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr. People make many spicy and sweet dishes. Eating sweet dish in the morning of Eid ul Fitr is sunnah.

The movie theatres are also seen crowded after the few days of the Eid. But the streets of the Dhaka city is observed with less traffic because many people visit there village celebrate the Eid with their loved ones. One week before the eid, overcrowd can be seen on the bus station, train station and the launch station. The road comes to its crowded form after the completion of seven days eid vacation. Everyone welcomes the new guest in the house, they embrace each other to share the greetings and happiness of eid. The young kids are seen to be roaming in the locality wearing new clothes, getting eid bonus money and buying sweets and snacks from the local shops. Many TV channels and radio station arrange special eid programs around three five to 5 days long to entertain the people. People enjoyed these programs with their family members. Though everyone can enjoy the vacation but some people like police doctors and some other profession people cannot enjoy the vacation so that the other people can enjoy good time with their family. So it is the celebration and festival of happiness and we should keep in mind that no people are left out of the happiness by creating the communal harmony by peace, caring and bonding.
