The glorious day of a nation,Independence Day

One of the proudest day for any country in the world in the Independence Day. That means the country has achieved the Independence and marked as the Independent and sovereign country in the world. This is a very crucial day for each country as they gained the recognition as a free country. Independence Day of Bangladesh is celebrated on 26th March every year. Bangladesh was declared as an independent country from the captivation of Pakistan in the early hour of 26th March,1971.

There are many events, incidents, hard work behind this day. The honorable politician Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared the independence of Bangladesh from his house of Dhanmondi 32. At the night of 25th March Pakistani military force came to his house, disconnected all the telephone line connection that he does not become able to communicate with the other political members of his party. Pakistan government planned to arrest Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman so that he does not become able to give the direction to the mass people of Bangladesh. They planned to captivate him to make the people weak in absence of the leadership of a true leader. The main aim was to rule the people of the East Pakistan. But before being arrested Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared Bangladesh as an independent country. He passed the message to one of his political leader of his party who was residing in Chittagong through walkietalkie. Next day on 27th of March this declaration of independence was broadcasted by Major Ziaur Rahman from the Chittagong radio station. Declaration of independence was widely reached among the people of the country and they got highly motivated to become free on the rule of Pakistan government.

The declaration came two different newspapers of that time. From the urge to make the country a liberal one and in the need of central decision making committee, the provisional government was formed on 10th April. This government also was known as Mujibnagar Government. It was formed in the town Meherpur. This government was formed with the prominent leaders of the East Pakistan. Tajuddin Ahmed was the chief executive of this government entitled as Prime Minister. The president of the provisional government was Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Vice president and also the acting president of that time was Syed Nazrul Islam. This government also had foreign minister, Home Minister, Defence Minister, Finance Minister the head of Planning Commission. The government gained International support by different campaigns. Many countries of the World helped Bangladesh during this time. Due to the unbearable torture and genocide that was made by the Pakistani military force, about 30 lakh people of Bangladesh where martyred .Many people flew to India as Refugee. The country was under a miserable condition .as there was no freedom without war. Bangali MuktiBahini, Guerilla force and many people from different occupation took active part in the Liberation war of Bangladesh the independence. The country was divided into 11 sectors people of every part of the country had their contribution in the Liberation war. The nine month of blood shaded war Bangladesh gained its independence in 16th December 1971. The officials of Pakistan signed the papers and declared Bangladesh as the independent country in the world. Then a huge number of Pakistani soldiers who fought against Bangladesh surrendered at the Race Course ground of the capital Dhaka. Every year 26 March bring the dark history about how the people of Bangladesh where killed the huge massacre was done on the 25th March midnight.

These events of 25th March lead the country what's the aim of making the country free from the extreme rules of the Pakistani government. It has been 49th year of independence but the people of Bangladesh still remember the tragedy of that time. The Independence Day in Bangladesh is a government holiday. The school college office business centers are remain closed on this day. The people of the country observe the day with great honour for the country and the people who laid their life for the country. The people from different part of the country go to the National Martyr’s Memorial that is located in Savar. It is the National monument of the country in memories of the people who has given their life for the liberation of Bangladesh. They visit this place with the flowers in their hand. People of every class come here to show their respect. The place remains crowded throughout the day. Independence Day is followed through parades, concerts, fair different political speech. The arrangement of cultural program can also be seen on this day in the different localities and school colleges of the country. The educational institutions are decorated with small flags. People go out wearing green and red sari and panjabi. The Prime Minister of the country greets the people. A large number of TV channels and radio station arranges special program for this day. So this is one of the important and glorious days for the people of the country because they became free and recognized as an independent country.
