Creating the relationship between global platforms with the local fashion industry, Dhaka Fashion Week. Fashion is the widely and popularly expressed aesthetics of any particular place within a time frame concerning the clothing, accessories, lifestyle, and relevant items. Fashion is the attire expression that persists for a long period which doesn't fade away as easily as the trend. This is also connected with the culture and tradition of any community. For a very long time, different countries of the world are working on improving the style and fashion trends for people. The fashion made travels from our community to country and also made roam around the world. Many fashion designers are working very hard day and night to provide wonderful fashion products to the customers. The fashion industry and fashion designers of Bangladesh are also not in exception of this situation. One of the fashion development initiatives in Bangladesh is the Dhaka Fashion Week. This is an annual fashion parade held annually in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka. Within a very short time, this fashion parade has gained a huge amount of popularity among the people of the country and the fashionistas. This event has created a huge exposure for the different fashion houses to the global position and Dhaka has been marked as the fashion capital. The event has gained important coverage from the prominent news dailies, like the Times of India and dawn of Pakistan. The people of India and Pakistan are also showing much interest in this event held every year. In 2008 the Marico sponsored a program named the 'Aromatic Gold Dhaka Fashion Week 2008'. It celebrated the 400 years of the city of Dhaka.


At this event, four themes were focused on. In 2009 the fashion week was hosted by the Dhaka club and it was organized by Tumpa and Associates. The title sponsor of this event was 'Moon Boutiques' in the position of co-sponsor was taken by parachute and Pride. Ekushey tv, New age played the role of media sponsor. In this event total of 15 fashion show was choreographed and directed by Kawshiki Tumpa Naseer. One of the fashion shows was directed by Emdad Haque. At last, the program took place in 2020 at the venue of ICCB in the presence of fashion models, influencers, fashion enthusiasts, fashion house owners, and prominent fashion designers. Due to its immense popularity and demand, this event is organized every year. This event of fashion is necessary to develop the fashion industry and uphold the culture of our country to the global level.
