The term art refers to the expression of imagination in a form of painting, drawing, sculpture, or visual object by using the creative skill of a person. Art should be appreciated for its beauty and the concept that it carries. People admire the art when it can create an infatuation and play a crucial role to lead a person's mind towards aesthetics. Art has the history of a very long time when it came alone toward the modern civilization with changes. Visual art mainly has three classical branches, this includes painting, sculpture, and architecture. The other form of art includes music, literature, and dance, which remains in the broader sense of art. Different types of programs take place in Bangladesh, one of the summits concerning art that take place in Dhaka of Bangladesh is the Dhaka Art Summit. This event is organized by a non-governmental organization which is named Samdani Foundation. This is a private art foundation that was formed in 2011 with the vision of creating a bond between the art and architectural beauty of Bangladesh with the world. This organization creates the bi-annual summit, which is the highest visited art summit in the world. It welcomed a total of 477000 visitors in its fifth event held in February 2020.


The organization creates different educational and exhibition-related programs around the country in association with a large number of Bangladeshi and international organizations. This organization is also regarded as one of the hyperactive art organizations of South Asia. The summit includes painting, sculptures, photography, video art, digital art, and different architectural structure. As the program is arranged after every two years, from the first total of five events has been organized. The first art summit was arranged in 2012 from 12th to 15th April. The total number of artists who participated was 200 the number of visitors was above 20000. From that time every year, this event has gained huge popularity. At every event, the number of visitors has been increased. The last summit organized by this organization was on February 7th to15. The number of artists who participated raised to 500. The number of visitors rose to a great extent that is 477000. A large number of presence of the visitors assures that this event is very much famous among the people of the country along with the huge number of foreigners. The first event took place with the collaboration of the Bangladesh National Museum Shilpakala Academy. The local artist and galleries were highlighted in the first edition of the summit. In the second edition of the summit, the organization focused on South Asia. They tried to highlight the beautiful art of South Asia. The last event of the 5th edition of the summit due completely assumed the success of this event. Due to its high popularity, many people are seen to be visiting the place with their family and spending time appreciating art and getting amazed.
